Weighing The Planets

Equal parts of art and insanity in this little corner of the world.

Come see what I see.
Men have always been the butt of sitcom jokes, but in the days when they really did dominate the weaker sex, they were mocked more for their manliness than their metrosexuality.

this is a quote from the fucking new york times

read that again: “when they really did dominate the weaker sex”
one more time: “the weaker sex”

apparently, that is me.

perhaps they were implying the idea that women are physically weaker, but that’s a pretty gross generalization even for the times. mentally weaker? how the fuck am i supposed to know, that shit is ambiguous as hell. who fucking approved this story?

i also can’t believe there is already a pity party for the fact that men are being poked fun at in television for being “womanly”. because we all know that men have to be 100% manly and women have to be 100% womanly, at all times, always.

thank you synecdoche for alerting me to this craptastic example of “what the fuck”. you should read her thoughts as well, because they are awesome:

because emasculation comedies are actually offensive to everyone if you keep using “womanly” as an insult. - synecdoche
